The Passport Acceptance Office serves the greater ASU community

Who are we?

This office is designated as a Passport Application Acceptance Facility on the Tempe campus of Arizona State University. We are located within the Center for Global Education Services, at Tempe Center and serve the greater ASU community.

What do we do?

As a service to the ASU community, we will accept your completed passport application and forward it to the Passport Services section of the U.S. Department of State for an issuance determination. Only Passport Services can make that determination, the Passport Acceptance Office cannot.

The office also offers photo service for passport applications or any other passport-sized photo needs.

What does Passport Services do?

The Passport Services is responsible for making the final decision to issue or deny a U.S. passport, based on each individual application. Customers may be requested to provide additional information as determined by Passport Services.

Passport fees

Fees are subject to change. Last updated 08/15/2011

Processing fee: $25

Outgoing Express Mail fee: $20 (expedited passport applications only)

Passport photos: $10

Note: Fee payments may be made only by personal check, cashier’s check, or money order. We are unable to accept credit/debit cards or cash.

Individual applicants will need TWO checks or money orders:

• One check/money order for the passport application fee, payable to the U.S. Department of State.
• One check/money order for the processing fee and/or photo, payable to ASU.

Family or group applicants will need multiple checks or money orders:

• One check/money order for EACH passport application, payable to the U.S. Department of State.
• One check/money order for the TOTAL processing and/or photo fees, payable to ASU.

Notes relating to the application process: If you are applying for a new passport you must present a "certified" birth certificate and a photo ID at the time of application.  Persons wishing to renew an existing passport must present their old passport. Many other questions concerning passports may be answered by the passport section of the U.S. State Department.

U.S. Passport Acceptance Office on ASU Tempe campus:

Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The passport acceptance office is closed on the following university holidays:

• New Year's Eve (Monday, January 2, 2012)
• Martin Luther King Day
• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Veteran's Day
• Thanksgiving (both Thursday and Friday)
• Christmas (Dec 26-27, 2011)

Parking: There are three free parking spots reserved on the north side of the Center for Global Education Services, which houses the passport office. These reserved spots are located in Lot 16.
