Measles Immunization
Measles immunization requirements:
- All AECP students born after Dec. 31, 1956, must provide English language proof of immunity to measles (sarampion, hashika, variolique, masern, rosalee) before registering for class. One measles vaccination (given after Dec. 31, 1979) is required.
- A second measles vaccination will be required later if you continue at ASU in a degree program.
- AECP recommends that you be immunized in your country. Please bring English-language documentation from your doctor or health center, listing the immunizations and the dates you received them. Bring this documentation with you to AECP when you come to register.
- If you have not been immunized or if you do not have proof of immunization, you can get the vaccination at the ASU Student Health Center during registration week. Currently, the cost is approximately $65. Immunizations are not covered by insurance.
Medical Consent for Students Under 18 Years of Age
Arizona law requries that all individuals under 18 years of age be given consent by a parent or legal guardian before they can receive any medical, surgical or psychiatric treatments. Arizona State University requires that a parental consent form be filled out and signed before enrolling anyone under 18 years of age.
If you are younger than 18-years-old and wish to be admitted to AECP, a required part of your application process is having your parent or legal guardian fill out, sign and submit a Parental Consent for Medical Care for Underage Students form.
Health Insurance
All AECP students in F-1 or J-1 visa status must have health insurance that meets ASU’s standards. For information about health insurance requirements, visit our Health Insurance page.
