Experts have called the 21st century the Asian Century because this complex region includes half of the world’s population and economic production. The Center for Asian Research offers unique resources to enhance knowledge about Asia, its cultural traditions and languages.
Nearly 5,000 students at ASU enroll in courses with Asian studies content each year. More than 80 internationally recognized scholars in studies in South Asia, Southeast Asia and East Asia teach, advance research, host events and build exchange programs and professional networks abroad.
The center also maintains research collections focused on Laos, Vietnam, China, Sri Lanka, Cambodia and Thailand.
