Director, International Initiatives
Fannie Tam serves as the associate director of international initiatives. She facilitates new partnerships and global engagements to support Global Academic Initiatives. Prior to this position, she was the managing director of the Confucius Institute at Arizona State University, overseeing program planning, execution and budget management.
During her 12 years at the institute, Tam developed and advanced 14 Confucius classroom partnerships with K-12 schools in Arizona to promote Chinese language and culture studies. She also led the Arizona AP Chinese project, a collaborative effort between the Institute and four secondary schools in Phoenix to develop and implement a model AP Chinese program.
Prior to her time at ASU, Tam was a management consultant in intercultural communication and negotiations for Intel, AT&T, American Express and Honeywell. She was a faculty member of the MBA Program at the University of Phoenix and was awarded Outstanding Graduate Business Faculty in 1997.
Tam holds an MBA from Brigham Young University.
