Sustainability is a fundamental principle that underlies ASU's learning, research, partnerships and business operations. ASU offers exceptional expertise and international country knowledge to support innovative solutions in every arena of sustainability. More than 450 sustainability scientists and scholars affiliated with the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability study and share information on topics ranging from water, energy and climate change to the challenges facing the world’s mega-cities and the social implications of a future of constrained resources and growing demand.
The institute’s cornerstones are education, research, business practice, global partnerships and transformation. It is home to the nation’s first School of Sustainability and global engagement is undertaken not only through education and research, but also through activities with practitioners from business, industry, and government, including the Decision Theater, Sustainable Cities Network and Consortium.
In addition, the institute is host to the Rob and Melani Walton Sustainability Solutions Initiatives group, which translates the knowledge and research excellence at ASU into creative, cutting-edge education study abroad programs, executive master's programs and sustainability problem-solving for businesses and communities.
