The New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences combines a small-college experience on ASU's West campus with the benefits of a top-tier research endeavor. In addition to a wide range of studies with faculty members in the School of Humanities Arts and Cultural Studies, the School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences, and the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, New College houses the Office of Interdisciplinary Global Learning and Engagement (IGLE). The office works to introduce students to global exploration, study, and travel in order to prepare them to be culturally, politically, and socially adept in our rapidly changing world economy. These students, especially those for whom international experiences may have been otherwise unattainable, return to enrich the economic, cultural and social fabric of Arizona and beyond. IGLE offers Global Intensive Experiences, an Interdisciplinary Internship Program and International Fieldwork Trips that offer short-term experiences in international cities and with companies around the world.
Faculty too are active global researchers. From studies of soil communities in the Antarctic Peninsula impacted by climate to research on African Diasporan archetypes in Ghana, New College is making a difference globally.
