The WE Empower Challenge was initiated by Amanda Ellis, executive director of Hawaii and Asia Pacific for the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability at Arizona State University.
In 2018, five entrepreneurs, chosen from 150 initial applicants, to compete for a $20,000 grant. The next five awardees, one from each UN region, will be chosen from those who apply by 12 May 2019.
